TNU organizes symposium on Careers in EditingThe Neotia University (TNU), West Bengal and Cactus Communications organized a one-day session on Careers in Editing” on June 24, 2017 to officially mark the launch of its proposed two weeks Certificate Course in “Online Academic Editing” in English. Prof. Ashok S. Kolaskar, Vice Chancellor of TNU introduced the vision of the session on Careers in Editing to an extremely energetic audience and vividly described the importance of Academic Document Editing in India.

 

The session continued with presentations by Dr. Nithya John and Mr. Daniel Rosario, both from Cactus Communications, Mumbai, who illustrated the potentialities and challenges of the Editing market and concluded by discussing on the qualities and possibilities of becoming a good editor. They also officially announced that candidates who (after going through a screening process) successfully complete the two weeks Certificate Course in “Online Academic Editing in English” would immediately be absorbed as a freelance editor (in the very least) with Cactus Communications, Mumbai.

 

TNU, being a self-financed young university offer all the courses in partnership with industry experts that begin with the design of curriculum to facilitating placement for deserving candidates. With such vision in mind, TNU has recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Cactus Communications, Mumbai, a global leader in the fields of academic document editing and content design.

 

The session ended with participants taking the screening test in order to be eligible for pursuing the course. About 30 percent of the candidates have cleared the written test and are being informed individually about the same by Cactus Communications, Mumbai.
