Smart India Hackathon 2017: Thapar University secures second runner-up spot

Smart-India-HackathonA six member team from Thapar University, Patiala, achieved the position of second runner-up in the ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ held in Jaipur. Organized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), National Informatics Centre (NIC) and MyGov, the Hackathon saw over 2100 technical institutes from across 33 locations in India concurrently compete for top honors in a 36 hour long digital programming marathon. The event had earlier been declared open by Union HRD Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar, who also served as its Chief Patron.

As per the Hackathon’s objective, participating teams were required to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions for real time challenges.
