JAM 2016 Score Card Available for Download; Admissions Start From April 15!

IIT Madras has announced the JAM 2016 Score Card and candidates who have qualified in the exam can now download the same till July 31, 2016. The JAM 2016 Score Card is required for admissions as it is the official document that showcases the result and performance of the candidates in JAM 2016. Admission for the M.Sc programmes at the IITs is through the common process and will start from April 15, 2016. Check the details below

  • The JAM 2016 Score Card is now available for download from March 30 to July 31, 2016.

  • Candidates must log in by entering their JAM 2016 Enrolment ID/Registration No and the password.

  • They must download their JAM 2016 Score Card and print it.

  • JAM 2016 Admission Application will be available from April 15, 2016

  • Candidates must log into JOAPS and fill the application. Thereafter they must pay the application fee of Rs 600 online through credit/ debit/ net banking available through SBI's payment gateway. Service charges may be extra.

  • The Application will be scrutinized and successful candidates will be intimated via SMS/ Email

  • The Announcement of admission offers will be made by SMS/ Email and on the JAM 2016 website.

Candidates who have been shortlisted must do the following:

  • Log in to JOAPS

  • Accept and Freeze the given offer

  • Accept with Upgrade

  • Reject and Quit


  • Accept means that the seat must be confirmed by payment of Seat-Booking Fee (Additional transaction charges, may be added).

  • To Reject and Quit candidates must enter the confirmation OTP (one time password sent to registered mobile number of the candidate) in JOAPS.

  • All Candidates offered admission by the organising Institute (IIT Madras) will receive formal offer letter by Admitting Institutes.

  • Withdraw option also must be confirmed by entering the OTP that will be sent to the mobile of the candidate.

CCMN 2016 is the common counselling platform for 17 NITs (Agartala, Allahabad, Arunachal Pradesh, Calicut, Durgapur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Manipur, Nagaland, Nagpur, Rourkela, Silchar, Srinagar, Warangal), IIEST Shibpur and SLIET Punjab.

Hi, Im pursuing my 2nd bsc in biotechnology, can I write jam exams only for biotechnology or should I learn all the syllabus given as "Biology" to write exams on biotechnology?

Hi aspirant,

Preparing the syllabus given in the IIT JAM exam for biotechnology is enough to crack the JAM exam. If you study the whole biology as a syllabus, you can attend most of the exams conducted in life sciences field for the higher studies and jobs. In JAM exam they will check your critical thinking and your subject knowledge depth. So prepare well.

I have only two months for the preparation of IIT JAM examination how would I prepare

Two months are a enough for someone to get a good rank in JAM .
Download the syllabus of IITJAM from their official website.
And stick to it.You won't be asked any questions out of the syllabus.
Now make a Doomsday notes please.
You would find it quite handy.Otherwise you have to open those large books again and again.
Compactness of the notes always helps.
Download all of the previous years questions from the website and try to solve them all,even two times if you have enough time.
Also give mocy tests.
Learn from your mistakes.
Learn to use the jam calculator which is not same as the normal calculator we use .
Get enough sleep.

can a B tech student can apply for IIT jam physics exam and what are the requirements that are needed ?

Hope you are doing well.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria mandates candidates to hold a Bachelor’s Degree . Candidates belonging to General/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must have at least 55% aggregate in Bachelor’s. The marks secured include all the subjects studied at the graduation level, without rounding off the marks.

So you obviously appears for the IIT JAM.

I am currently studying bsc third year. I want to do MSc. but I didnt apply for any entrance exam like JAM till now. where can I study? is that any college opened their admission process?

Yes you can still apply for your M.Sc degree. Because still you have one semester remaining. JAM application, TIFR application portals may get closed, but you can apply for upcoming notifications regarding admission. Universities call for admission, colleges also nearly in the month of March. So be ready to apply for them.

B.Sc./B.S. degree (three years/six semesters) with Chemistry as Honours/Major/Main Subject, Mathematics as compulsory one subsidiary subject and Physics/ Biology as another subsidiary subject for at least two years/four semesters
M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering
Any one of Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for two years/four semesters, and any one of the other four subjects for at least one year/two semesters
Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in     Atmosphere and    Ocean Sciences
Mathematics and Physics with any one of these subjects among Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Application, Geology and Statistic
