JAM 2016 Online Registration Starts from September 2!

The online Registration for JAM 2016 will be available from September 2, 2016. Candidates who wish to apply for admissions to the M.Sc and other PG Programmes in Science at the IITs and the IISc Bangalore must qualify in JAM 2016. The JAM 2016 Online Registration and Application are online and will be available till October 14, 2016. Check the details below.

Salient Features in JAM 2016:

  • The JAM 2016 exam will be conducted online for all the seven papers.

  • Questions will be a mix of multiple choice, multiple select and numerical questions

  • The Application Process is also completely online and candidates need not send any documents to IIT Madras.

  • JAM 2016 Score Card will have to be downloaded and will not be sent to the candidates by any other means.

JAM Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only candidates who possess the specified Academic qualifications can apply for JAM 2016

  • Candidates may note that JAM 2016 qualified candidates must apply separately for admissions after the JAM Result is declared. Admissions will also be through the JOAPs.

  • Candidates may have to apply directly to the JAM 2016 participating Institutes for some of the programmes if they qualify in JAM 2016.

JAM Application Form:

  • Candidates have to register first and fill the JAM 2016 Online Application Form.

  • They will have to log in through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) and fill the requisite information. To log in they must use the Enrolment ID generated during Registration along with the chosen password.

  • They have to upload the photograph, signature and the specified documents along with the Application Form.

  • Candidates must pay the Application fee of Rs 1500 (Rs 750 for SC/ST/Pwd/Female Candidates) if applying for one Paper.

  • Candidates have to pay Application Fees of Rs 2100 (Rs 1050 for SC/ST/Pwd/Female Candidates) if applying for two Papers.

  • Payment has to be online through net banking account, debit or credit cards OR through EChallan of SBI

  • Candidates must remember that NO hardcopies of any documents are to be sent to the Organizing Institute.

  • For payment made by E-challan – candidates have to upload the scanned copy (PDF file) of the counter-foil (student’s copy) on the JAM online application processing system (JOAPS) by login to your account.

Candidates must keep in mind the JAM Important Dates while applying to be aware of the crucial dates for JAM 2016. To know the exam better before starting their preparation, candidates must check the JAM Exam Pattern. For practice on the previous year papers along with the answer keys, candidates must download the JAM Sample Papers.

Hi, Im pursuing my 2nd bsc in biotechnology, can I write jam exams only for biotechnology or should I learn all the syllabus given as "Biology" to write exams on biotechnology?

Hi aspirant,

Preparing the syllabus given in the IIT JAM exam for biotechnology is enough to crack the JAM exam. If you study the whole biology as a syllabus, you can attend most of the exams conducted in life sciences field for the higher studies and jobs. In JAM exam they will check your critical thinking and your subject knowledge depth. So prepare well.

I have only two months for the preparation of IIT JAM examination how would I prepare

Hi,
Two months are a enough for someone to get a good rank in JAM .
Download the syllabus of IITJAM from their official website.
And stick to it.You won't be asked any questions out of the syllabus.
Now make a Doomsday notes please.
You would find it quite handy.Otherwise you have to open those large books again and again.
Compactness of the notes always helps.
Download all of the previous years questions from the website and try to solve them all,even two times if you have enough time.
Also give mocy tests.
Learn from your mistakes.
Learn to use the jam calculator which is not same as the normal calculator we use .
Get enough sleep.
You would be fine

can a B tech student can apply for IIT jam physics exam and what are the requirements that are needed ?

Hope you are doing well.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria mandates candidates to hold a Bachelor’s Degree . Candidates belonging to General/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must have at least 55% aggregate in Bachelor’s. The marks secured include all the subjects studied at the graduation level, without rounding off the marks.

So you obviously appears for the IIT JAM.

I am currently studying bsc third year. I want to do MSc. but I didnt apply for any entrance exam like JAM till now. where can I study? is that any college opened their admission process?

Hi aspirant

Yes you can still apply for your M.Sc degree. Because still you have one semester remaining. JAM application, TIFR application portals may get closed, but you can apply for upcoming notifications regarding admission. Universities call for admission, colleges also nearly in the month of March. So be ready to apply for them.
