Simplifying the admission process, Delhi University has launched a mobile application to help the candidates fill the application forms for undergraduate courses in the University. The android-based mobile App will offer all the admission-related information to its users.

“We have launched a mobile App to keep the applicants updated on all aspects of DU admission process during different round of counseling,” Malay Neerav, DU joint dean, students’ welfare andmedia co-ordinator told Careers360.

Launching the DU UG admission 2014-15 mobile App on May 28, Deputy Dean Students Welfare Gurpreet Singh Tuteja said, "These days, students access Internet through their mobile phones and tabs instead of laptops. Keeping up with their online habit, we have launched this mobile application which provides all kind of information related to undergraduate admissions including schedule, courses, basis of selection and colleges.”

“Everything you wanted to know about DU admissions is here. Predict your college, get latest updates, trends and insights on DU admissions. Click Here

“The App will take 9MB space of your mobile phone memory,” Tuteja told Careers360.

As announced earlier, the admission process of 2014-15 will start on June 2 for about 54,000 undergraduate seats available in different courses in 65 colleges of Delhi University.

From June 2 onwards, applicants will be able to fill admission forms through this App, Tuteja informed. "Students will have to upgrade the App and a link will be provided for filling the OMR form," he added.

The University officials expect over 3,00,000 applications for its undergraduate seats this year. Last year, 2,56,024 candidates applied for different undergraduate programmes in the University. The new user-friendly app is supposed to help a large number of students in admission process.

“Users will have an offline access to 80% of information including notifications, admission schedule, college location and directory,” informed Tuteja. Users, however, will require internet accessibility for using some of the features available on the new DU App, including links to websites of DU and colleges affiliated to the University. Applicants will also be able to check the DU cut off lists of the colleges they are interested in, Tuteja said.

Delhi University is likely to continue with 10 or more cut off lists under its 2014 undergraduate admission process which is scheduled to begin from June 2.

The University is scheduled to release the list of first 10 cut-offs in a window of 30 days beginning June 24. According to University officials, the dates of the release of DU’s 10 cut off lists are June 24, June 27, July 1, July 4, July 8, July 11, July 14, July 16, July 18 and July 21 respectively.

Meanwhile, DU is also conducting open day sessions to address queries of the prospective students and their parents regarding undergraduate admissions since May 21. The Open Days will continue till May 30.
