DU Admissions 2017: Delhi University to organise Open Days from May 22

DU Open Days 2017 are to begin from May 22 as the University of Delhi will be organising Open Days to counsel and guide the DU 2017 admission seekers and their parents regarding the admission process of Delhi University for undergraduate programmes for the year 2017-18. The DU Open Days will be a 10-day admission guidance schedule, which will end on May 31, 2017. “The Open Days will begin from 22nd May and continue till May 31st, at Conference Centre located in the North Campus of the University,” informed Delhi University Registrar, Dr T K Das. What are DU Open Days

Every year, the Delhi University organises ‘Open Days’ an open counselling session for the DU 2017 admission aspirants who can ask their questions regarding the admission process including filling application form, eligibility criteria, programme cut off and ‘Best of Four’ calculation for the three-year undergraduate programme merit based admissions.

 

DU Admission Help Desk

The university has also set up an admission help desk for the undergraduate programmes in Room No. 5, Conference Centre, Gate No. 4, North Campus. The DU admission help desk will run throughout the admission process on all working days. “DU 2017 admission aspirants may visit this admission help desk between 10:00 and 5:00 pm for clarification of their doubts on admission formalities,” shared Dr Das while speaking on DU Admission Help Desks.

 

DU Open Days: What’s new

Till last year the DU Open Days were organised at different places. However, this year the DU aspirants need to visit the North Campus Conference Centre for taking guidance on DU 2017 admission process.

 

The University of Delhi is beginning the admission process with DU application form from May 22, 2017, which is almost two weeks ahead of the normal DU admission schedule. However, the last date for DU application form submission is yet not finalised.

 

The undergraduate admission under the three-year programme structure is based on merit and entrance tests. The admission-cum-application form for entrance test based DU 2017 admission will begin from May 31, 2017. The entrance test will be conducted for admissions to the following programmes–

  1. Bachelor of Mannagement Studies (BMS)

  2. Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)

  3. B.A.(Hons.) Business Economics

  4. B.A. (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences

  5. Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

  6. Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports: B.Sc. (P.E., H.E.& S.)

  7. B.A. (Hons.) Multimedia and Mass Communication

  8. B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations)

  9. B.A. (Hons.) Music

Delhi University offers as many as 54,000 seats in the undergraduate programmes under the merit based admissions and another 1,600 seats under the entrance test based admissions.

The exam pattern of entrance exam is objective type. Questions will be based on basic zoology of 12th and B.Sc level.The best way possible to prepare for this exam is go through past year entrance papers and try to solve and google the topics that you aren't aware of.Also go through B.Sc syllabus of DU and read the topics that you haven't read yet.

DU Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum qualification is 12th passed/appearing with 75% aggregate of best four including 85% in English for general category.
  • A general candidate should have Minimum 60% in four subjects (including mathematics), 54% for OBC, and passing marks are required for SC/ST.

It depends on your interestmIf you want to specialize in a field then you can go for masters, it will help you to gain knowledge and job opportunities.To seek admission in any college or university you need to first know when they will start their admission process.You may need to fulfill eligibility criteria before applying for the concerned programme in which you want to get admission.When the admissions are opened you can apply for it.It depends on university or college you are applying for.There will be an entrance examination which you may have to qualify and the admission will be based on the merit you have secured.In some cases the admission will be based on the merit in graduation again it depends on college.

So first choose in which university or college you want to pursue MA and then check for their admission process and dates.

Syllabus of DU B.Ed 2019 Exam

Part A consists of General awareness, reasoning and language comprehension (compulsory for all candidates). This section would include areas to assess abilities of the candidates such as reasoning (mathematical, inductive & deductive), identifying and understanding the relationship among various elements, decision making, data analysis, interpretation. Items in the fields of education, national and international affairs, etc. would also be included in this section to assess their understanding in these areas also. Further, a passage would also be included in this section based on which a few objective type questions will be asked to assess the candidates language comprehension.

Part A (1 mark each)

General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension- 10 questions

Teaching Learning & the school- 25 questions

Logical and analytical reasoning- 20 questions

Education and General awareness- 25 questions

Part B (20 marks)

B2 of the entrance test will assess the candidates teaching aptitude and their chosen subjects understanding. Aspirants have to choose any of the following subjects depending on their specialization.

Hindi

Mathematics

Social Studies

Interview

Interview is carried out to check the following skills of the candidate:

Preparing for B. Ed is simple. as per my information you must read at least tow reputed news papers daily one is like times of india or the hindu or any good news paper and make note of important events, dates, and points
2) read all the text books of secondary school preapare notes of each subject, like writer poets, artists, their important work, their important literature and characters, formulas of mathematics, physics, chemistry etc. geographical information, historcal dates and events and many more things and you will easily score very good. dont take tension
3) last and important thins is that study every day

Yes , you can pursue b.ed from DU as it provides B.ED , it is a full-time professional teacher education program of the duration of two academic years, after graduate or postgraduate studies, leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree.
Four institutions of DU offers the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program which are:-
  • Faculty of Education (Central Institute of Education - CIE)
  • Lady Irwin College (LIC)
  • Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE)
  • Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for women (SPMC)
Eligibility criteria is given below :-
  • Candidates with at least 50% either in Bachelors Degree and/or in the Masters Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities, Bachelors in Engineering or technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible
  • Candidates with at least 55% marks in aggregate in Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology and specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible.
