DU 2016 online admission process witnessed a technical glitch due to which candidates who had already taken admission could not apply for fresh vacant seats after fifth round of undergraduate admissions. The technical glitch affected the admission process for more than 30 hours after application window opened on July 24. However, the application window was available for candidates who had not been offered admission earlier.
Candidates who had already registered for DU 2016 admission were to be offered fresh application option for the vacant seats between July 24 and July 26, 2016. But the application window was not available till 3 pm on July 25. Check here for DU 2016 Important Dates.
DU Registrar, Dr.Tapan Kumar Das, admitted the technical glitch. “I know there are some technical glitches as for the first time the varsity is admitting candidates in complete online mode. Notwithstanding, we are trying to resolve the issue at the earliest,” said the Registrar to Careers360.
The normal application process for vacant seats, however, resumed after the technical team of the admission committee removed the glitch this afternoon. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Deputy Dean Student’s Welfare told Careers360 that there was some misconception between the admission committee and admission portal committee which led to the technical glitches. “Till today (July 25, 2016) morning, candidates who have been allotted the seats were not able to register for vacant seats. The glitches have been fixed now. Now the DU 2016 pre-registered candidates can register for vacant seats,” he said.
Delhi University offers admissions to over 54000 undergraduate seats for admission to various courses in as many as 77 colleges of the varsity. Currently, the admission process is on for vacant seats in different colleges through online UG admission portal.
