DU 2016 admission: 1st Cutoff announced; B.Com (H) cutoff at Ramjas reaches peak of 99.25 per cent

DU 1st Cutoff for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the year 2016 was announced late night on June 29, 2016. As per the DU 1st cutoff, B.Com (H) at Ramjas College is the most sought after programme with highest cutoff of 99.25 for any UG programme offered by DU colleges. Last year, the cutoff for the same programme was 97.75 per cent. Further, cutoff for BA (H) Economics programme at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) college is 98.25 per cent, which is same as last year. A B.Com (H) seat in the SRCC is available at 98 per cent, which is an increase of 0.625 per cent as compared to last year's cutoff. Jesus & Mary College (JMC) has also significantly increased its cut-off for B.Com (H) programme from from 96.25 per cent last year to 99 per cent this year.

 

DU 2016 first cut-off marks

According to the first cutoff data, as much as 99 per cent marks is needed for admissions in BA (H) English programme in St. Stephen’s college, which is apparently this year’s highest cut-off marks for the programme. Further, for admissions to the same programme in Jesus & Mary College (JMC)  and Ramjas college, aspirants need at least 97.75 per cent and 97.5 per cent aggregate respectively in ‘Best of Four subjects’.  Miranda House cutoff is same as Ramjas College for the subject. Kirori Mal College cutoff for BA (H) English is 96.5 per cent.

 

Those seeking admission in Ramjas College for B.Sc (H) Maths need to score at least 98.5 per cent in the aggregate of ‘Best of Four’ including Mathematics as an elective subject. The undergraduate programme is also available at Kirori Mal College at a minimum score of 97 per cent and that in JMC at 93 per cent. The subject is, however, also available at 89 per cent cutoff at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College.

What next?

The DU 2016 admission procedure for the first round will begin from June 30, 2016 in online mode only. As per the new online admission process of the central university, applicants will have to login through their registered accounts and further need to select their preferred programme and college based on 1st cutoff. If a candidate doesn't wish to take admission to the seats avaialble in the first round, he can wait for the second cutoff which is scheduled to be released on July 5.

 

Those who select a seat based on the first rround of cutoff, will need to visit college in-person and get their documents verified. Once the college approves their admission for the UG programme, they will need to pay the admission fee online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking facilities. It should be noted that the varsity has given instructions to colleges to retain the certificates during verification process, in order to check multiple admissions.

The exam pattern of entrance exam is objective type. Questions will be based on basic zoology of 12th and B.Sc level.The best way possible to prepare for this exam is go through past year entrance papers and try to solve and google the topics that you aren't aware of.Also go through B.Sc syllabus of DU and read the topics that you haven't read yet.

DU Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum qualification is 12th passed/appearing with 75% aggregate of best four including 85% in English for general category.
  • A general candidate should have Minimum 60% in four subjects (including mathematics), 54% for OBC, and passing marks are required for SC/ST.

It depends on your interestmIf you want to specialize in a field then you can go for masters, it will help you to gain knowledge and job opportunities.To seek admission in any college or university you need to first know when they will start their admission process.You may need to fulfill eligibility criteria before applying for the concerned programme in which you want to get admission.When the admissions are opened you can apply for it.It depends on university or college you are applying for.There will be an entrance examination which you may have to qualify and the admission will be based on the merit you have secured.In some cases the admission will be based on the merit in graduation again it depends on college.

Syllabus of DU B.Ed 2019 Exam

Part A consists of General awareness, reasoning and language comprehension (compulsory for all candidates). This section would include areas to assess abilities of the candidates such as reasoning (mathematical, inductive & deductive), identifying and understanding the relationship among various elements, decision making, data analysis, interpretation. Items in the fields of education, national and international affairs, etc. would also be included in this section to assess their understanding in these areas also. Further, a passage would also be included in this section based on which a few objective type questions will be asked to assess the candidates language comprehension.

Part A (1 mark each)

General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension- 10 questions

Teaching Learning & the school- 25 questions

Logical and analytical reasoning- 20 questions

Education and General awareness- 25 questions

Part B (20 marks)

Preparing for B. Ed is simple. as per my information you must read at least tow reputed news papers daily one is like times of india or the hindu or any good news paper and make note of important events, dates, and points
2) read all the text books of secondary school preapare notes of each subject, like writer poets, artists, their important work, their important literature and characters, formulas of mathematics, physics, chemistry etc. geographical information, historcal dates and events and many more things and you will easily score very good. dont take tension
3) last and important thins is that study every day

Yes , you can pursue b.ed from DU as it provides B.ED , it is a full-time professional teacher education program of the duration of two academic years, after graduate or postgraduate studies, leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree.
Four institutions of DU offers the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program which are:-
  • Faculty of Education (Central Institute of Education - CIE)
  • Lady Irwin College (LIC)
  • Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE)
  • Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for women (SPMC)
Eligibility criteria is given below :-
