University officials said that the 18 UICs, where the offline applications were available, witnessed more or less the same rush, till the application windows closed on June 16. Before the opening of application procedure, the Delhi University officials had held open days sessions, to bring clarity on DU admission process.
Malay Neerav, Joint Dean of Students’ Welfare and Media Co-ordinator said that the record number of applicants is proof that the students are not deterred by the controversial reports and protest by some sections over FYUP. Advocating FYUP, Mr. Neerav said, “FYUP is a misnomer. It’s a 2-3-4 Year UG programme with multiple exit points and a student and teacher friendly programme.”
He added that Delhi University was holding an academic counselling meeting on June 21 for the introduction of new courses under FYUP.
