Apratim Chatterjee, 29 May 2015, #DU

Delhi University 2015 Admissions kick started on May 28, with as many as 37850 online registrations made till 5:00 pm for around 54000 undergraduate seats in 64 affiliated colleges of the Central University.

The DU 2015 Online Applications began on May 28 midnight itself. Dr. Malay Neerav, Joint Dean of Student Welfare said, “The online registration for the undergraduate programmes began at midnight and by 5 pm in the evening a total of 37850 aspirants have registered for the online applications, among which as many as 8791 have remitted the application fees.”

“No snags were reported on the first day of applications. We have tried to encourage the online process and so we began the online registrations early than the offline,” added Dr. Neerav. Last year the University website had crashed down and only 2500 aspirants could register on the first day. Prof. J.M. Khurana said, “This year the University has taken measures so that the DU aspirants don’t face the same situation likewise last year.”

The Online Application Form of DU is common for all courses offered in all the affiliated colleges except St. Stephen’s and Jesus and Mary College. These two colleges affiliated to the University have their own admission process and separate application forms. Candidates applying for the UG Applications of DU Admissions 2015 need to remit an application fee of Rs. 100 if belonging to general and OBC categories, whereas those from reserved categories including SC and ST need to remit Rs. 50 only.

The Delhi University colleges will be announcing their first cutoff list on June 25, 2015.
