Panjab University Eligibility Criteria 2019
Given below are the eligibility criteria for UG and PG courses which PU CET 2019 grants admissions to. It is required for candidates seeking admission to Panjab University 2019 to go through the eligibility criteria for the course of their choice before filling the application form. If candidates are found to be not complying with the eligibility criteria of Panjab University 2019, their applications will get cancelled even at later stages of admission.
Panjab University 2019 Eligibility Criteria for UG Programmes
In order to take the PU CET 2019 for admissions to UG programmes (B.Sc. And B.Pharm), candidates must have appeared or passed the 10 + 2 exam under the CBSE board or any equivalent exam under a recognized council/board/university. The minimum percentages to be scored in the qualifying exams will vary as per courses.
Panjab University Eligibility Criteria 2019 for PG Programmes
To appear for PU CET in 2019 for PG courses, the candidate must have done his/her bachelors/masters from a recognized university. The minimum aggregates to be scored in these exams will vary as per courses.
The application form for PU CET 2019 will be released in online mode for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is compulsory for candidates applying for Panjab University admission 2019 to fill the application form. The application process for UG courses will span from first to last week of March 2019. For PG courses, the application process will begin in second week of April 2019 and end in second week of May 2019. The mode of fee payment against the application form of Panjab University 2019 is offline. In order to fill the form, candidates will first have to register themselves with Panjab University. Applicants will then have to fill in important details like contact number, email ID, category, date of birth, etc. in the application form. Panjab University Exam Centres 2019
Panjab University will list exam centres with official notification in the first week of March 2019 for undergraduate courses. For postgraduate courses, the list of exam centres will be announced in the second week of April 2019. For PUCET 2019 UG, the exam is likely to be held only in Chandigarh, whereas PUCET 2019 PG will be held in Chandigarh, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, and Mukhtsar. PU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for UG Programmes
The test will be conducted in the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. Candidates will have to choose a suitable combination for themselves on the basis of the subjects they studied in 10 + 2 pattern. Possible combinations are PCB/PCM/M.
Each subject will be of 120 marks and consist of 60 questions.
Each question will be of 2 marks. There will be negative marking as well. Each incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of 0.5 marks.
Each paper will be of 70 minutes.
The paper will be MCQ based and conducted in the English language.
The syllabus for the entrance will be of 10 + 1 and 10 + 2 level.
PU CET Exam Pattern 2019 for PG Programmes
The test will be for 1.5 hours.
The maximum marks, maximum number of questions, type of examination, linguistic medium will vary as per different courses.
There will be negative marking. So for a one mark question, an incorrect answer will cost the candidate 0.25 mark.
Panjab University Answer Key 2019
The Panjab University will release PU CET answer key 2019 for UG courses in the last week of April 2019. For postgraduate courses, the PU CET 2019 answer key will be released in the second week of June 2019. Candidates will be able to access answer keys for both of the programmes online. Candidates who take the test for admission to Panjab University 2019 can cross-check their answers with the key and assess their performance in PU CET 2019. If candidates want to file objections with the answer keys, they can do so in online mode within 48 hours after the announcement of the keys. The objections for PG answer key will be published on the website and further cross-objections will be invited till the third week of June 2019. For UG courses, the uploading of objections and further objections will be conducted till first week of May 2019. The university will take valid objections into account while evaluating the answer sheets.
The university will declare PU CET 2019 result in the first week of May 2019 for undergraduate courses. While for postgraduate courses, the entrance results will be announced in the last week of June 2019. Panjab University admission 2019 candidates will be able to check their results in the online mode. The result of Panjab University 2019 will mention details like candidates’ names and marks. Candidates will not be issued separate result cards. Additionally, the university will not accept any requests for revaluation and reassessment of the answer scripts. However, a candidate will have to deposit Rs. 10,000 to avail a photocopy of their answer sheet. If the candidate finds a valid error made on university’s part, the university will take account of the complaint and refund the fee.
The university will specify the cut off for UG courses in the first week of March 2019 and for PG courses in second week of April 2019. Panjab University 2019 cut off marks act as the minimum marks which candidates should secure in the entrance test to qualify. Only those candidates will be featured in the merit list who secure at least the qualifying marks in Panjab University admission 2019 test. Panjab University Merit List 2019
Panjab University will be releasing the merit list for admissions to undergraduate courses in the last week of June 2019 and for admissions to postgraduate courses in July 2019 – August 2019. Candidates will be able to access the merit list in online mode. Panjab University 2019 merit list will mention the list of candidates who will qualify as per the cut off marks. Shortlisted candidates, that is, those candidates mentioned in the merit list of Panjab University 2019, will be called for the counselling round. For UG admissions, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of merit obtained in common entrance test (75% weight age), merit in 10 + 2 examination (25% weight age), and over and above weight age which NCC/NSS carries in terms of marks. In case of PG programmes, the merit list for M.A. courses will be prepared on the basis of the written exam (50% weight age) and qualifying exam (50% weight age). For M.Com. courses, the merit list will take into account the entrance test (85% weight age), group discussion (5% weight age), PI (7.%% weight age).
Panjab University Counselling 2019
The university will begin with PU CET counselling 2019 for UG and PG courses in July 2019 – August 2019. Those candidates who were featured on the Panjab University 2019 merit list will have to attend the counselling session as per the schedule. Shortlisted candidates should remember that merely qualifying and featuring in the merit list does not guarantee their admission to Panjab University 2019. They will first have to fill the admission form of Panjab University 2019 and attend the counselling session physically. Candidates will be called for Panjab University 2019 counselling according to their merit position. To finalize their Panjab University admission 2019, it is compulsory for candidates to mark their attendance as well to prove their physical presence on the scheduled date.
