NEST Eligibility Criteria 2019 - The National Institute of Science Education and Research and Central and Center for Excellence in Basic Science - University of Mumbai will release the NEST 2019 eligibility criteria for the National Entrance Screening Test along with the admission notification in the on January 3, 2019. The eligibility criteria of NEST 2019 contains the minimum eligibility to apply for entrance test to be conducted for the 5 year integrated M.Sc programmes offered by the conducting board. NEST 2019 is a computer based test to be conducted on June 1, 2019 in two sessions. Candidates who wish to apply for the integrated M.Sc programmes must check the NEST eligibility criteria 2019 before applying for the examination. Candidates appearing should pass their qualifying examination with the minimum aggregate specified for the different reservation categories. The NEST 2019 eligibility criteria mentions the age limit and the relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. The eligibility criteria of NEST 2019 mentions the criteria to be fulfilled by candidates to apply for NEST 2019.

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Academic Qualification

  • General and OBC candidates must have completed their Class 12 qualifying examination with minimum 60 percent aggregate from a recognized board. Candidates from the SC/ ST categories must secure minimum 55 percent aggregate in their class 12 qualifying examination. 

  • Candidates who apply must have passed the qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018. Candidates who appear for their qualifying examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply. 

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Age Limit

  • Candidates who apply must be born on or after August 1999. The age limit for SC/ST candidates will be relaxed upto 5 years. 

  • Candidates belonging to the reserved category need to submit their reservation eligibility certificates only during the admission counselling process.

NEST Application Form 2019

The applications for NEST 2019 will be available online from January 7, 2019. The candidates can fill and submit their NEST application form 2019 till March 18, 2019 (midnight). The application process has been divided into four easy steps for the convenience of the candidates

Q: Can a candidate who has a back paper in class 12 appear for the examination?

Ans: It is required that the candidates who apply for the test should have passed their class 12 examination

Q: Do candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories get an age relaxation?

Ans: Yes, candidates who belong to the SC/ST categories have an age relaxation of 5 years.

Q: Will the applications be cancelled if the candidate does not fit the eligibility?

Ans: Yes, if the candidates do not fulfill the eligibility mentioned their applications will not be considered. 

Q: What is the minimum aggregate required for general and OBC candidates?

Ans: Candidates belonging to the General and OBC category must have secured minimum 60 percent aggregate in their qualifying examination.

Q: What is the qualifying examination to appear for NEST 2019

Ans: Candidates must have completed class 12 to appear for NEST 2019.
