NEST Merit List

Candidates will be invited to the NEST counselling 2020 based on their rank in the merit list of KIITEE 2020. Those candidates whose ranks will fall under the released NEST 2020 merit list need to register themselves till the last date of registration. Candidates will be able to check the scheduled date, venue and timings of the counselling process along with NEST merit list 2020. The final ranking of candidates will be made based on the percentile scores calculated from the general section and best of three subjects.

NEST 2020 Merit List Calculation

The NEST 2020 cutoff will be calculated in the following

Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS)

  • The direct sum of the total score in the general section and the best three scores in the subject section will be the total score of a candidate.

  • Section Wise Minimum Admissible Score or Section Wise Cut Off Marks for each section is the 20 percent of the average of the best 100 scores in that section.

  • For example, if the average of the best 100 scores in Physics section is 40 out of 50, then SMAS for Physics section would be 40*0.20 = 8 marks.

  • Section-wise cut off marks of NEST 2020 will be different for different numerical value.

  • Candidate must score equal or more SMAS in the General section as well as three subject sections out of five. These sections will then be counted for merit list calculation.

  • NEST 2020 Section Wise Minimum Admissible Score for SC/ ST candidates will be 50% of the general category, whereas SMAS for OBC candidates will be 90% of the general candidates.

NEST Cutoff 2020 - Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP)

  • Candidates must score an equal or above the Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) in addition to Section-wise minimum admissible score.

  • Candidates who score an equal or more MAS but do not secure SMAS in the general section or in at least three sections will not be allotted merit rank.

which chapters requires to get at least 15- 20 marks in nest bio as I am a pcm student(I have bio in my +2, but I gave majority to pcm)??

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 13th Feb, 2020
Hello.
It looks like you have physics chemistry Mathematics and biology in your 10+2 and you have given your major focus on physics ,chemistry and mathematics now you are confused that what should you do for having at least passing marks in biology so I will suggest you to go with the previous year question papers now because you don't have much time for preparation because exams are near so  you can do previous year question papers ,most of the question will be repeated in the coming exam.
Best of luck.
