JAM 2016 Result – The Result of JAM 2016 has been declared by IIT Madras on March 23, 2016. Candidates who have appeared for the JAM 2016 exam must login to the JAPs and enter their Enrolment ID/Email ID along with the password to check their JAM 2016 Result.

IIT Madras is the organizing institute for JAM 2016. The JAM 2016 Result will display the details of the candidate along with the All India Rank, scores obtained in the JAM 2016 exam. It will also display the Rank of the candidate as per the category.

Admissions to the M.Sc and some of the PhD programmes at the IITs and the IISc Bangalore are on the basis of the JAM 2016 Result. Candidates must note that the JAM 2016 Score Card will be available for download tentatively by the end of March 2016. Candidates don’t need to print the JAM 2016 Result as the Score Card will be the requisite official document required for admissions.

Guidelines for the JAM 2016 Result:

  • An All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all the candidates who have appeared for the JAM 2016 exam as per their performance in the test paper.

  • The JAM 2016 AIR will depend upon the number of seats available in each category for a given subject.

  • Candidates who will be assigned ranks based on their scores will be considered as qualified in JAM 2016.

Note: The JAM 2016 Merit Lists will be separate for each category and the JAM 2016 Rank of the candidates will be as per the category.

All the OBC-NCL candidates will require submitting the requisite certificates after declaration of the JAM 2016 Result. Candidates will not be considered under the General category if their certificate is not as prescribed or is invalid.

Tie breaking guidelines for the JAM 2016 Result is: The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank else the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank

  • Candidates must log in through JOAPS

  • They must enter the Enrolment ID/Email Address and their Password to log in.

  • After successfully logging in they can access the JAM 2016 Result

  • It is to be noted that the JAM 2016 Score Card will be available for download from March 30 to July 31, 2016.

  • The JAM 2016 Results are only for display and need not be downloaded. 

The JAM Result 2016 will display the following information:

  • Name of the candidate,

  • JAM 2016 Registration No,

  • Examination Paper

  • Marks Scored by the candidate

  • Qualifying marks for the discipline.

  • For candidates who have qualified, the AIR will also be displayed

Candidates must remember that the JAM 2016 Result will be just for information sake. Candidates must download the JAM 2016 Score Card for admissions.

For the year 2020 through iit jam iit kharagpur provides the biomedical sciences course which is of integrated nature -

The courses offered in biomedical sciences are-

1)Medical Physics

2) Nuclear Medicine

3)  Molecular Medical Microbiology

All these courses are Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D.

1) M.Sc. Biotechnology


2) Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Molecular Medical Microbiology

3) M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering

is mathematics mandatory for iit jam entrance exam if I have done my bsc in biology

Hi,

iit jam exam is conducted to take admission in M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-UG Degrees Programmes at the IITs of India and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc, Bangalore.

The eligibility of mathematics at class 10+2 level depend on course in which you want to take admission. For example if you want to take admission to Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Molecular Medical Microbiology for this courses it is not necessary that  you have math at 10+2 level. However for the course  M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering it is compulsory to have mathematics at 10+2 level.

can a pure PCB student attempt IIT JAM ?

Hi Aditi,

Yes, a pure PCB student can attempt IIT JAM Examination.

IIT-JAM is an entrance exam conducted by different IITs every year for admission of students in the M.Sc. program in any of the discipline in which you have pursued Bachelor's of Science.

For a GEN/OBC student 55%, or 5.55 out of 10 aggregate marks in their qualifying degree are required to attempt IIT JAM.

For a SC/ST/PWD student 50%, or 5.0 out of 10 aggregate marks in their qualifying degree  are required to attempt IIT JAM.

As mentioned above, if you have done your B.Sc through Biology subjects than also you can attempt IIT JAM and take admission for M.Sc. Biotechnology and Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Atmosphere and Ocean Sciences and many more.

Moreover, the more M.Sc. courses are available for a Mathematics student.

how to prepare for iit jam for msc in iit?

Hello Aditi,

To prepare for IIT jam, you should be well aware of exam pattern and syllabus.

IIT JAM entrance exam is held in computer-based mode, in two sessions - Session 1 and Session 2. The JAM exam 2020 includes three sections - Section A, Section B, Section C. Total questions that will be asked are 60 for a total of 100 marks. Candidates may note that questions will be of multiple-choice and numerical answer type questions.

Since there are many topics, the candidates will be needed to make a table dividing the topics and subjects and allowing them a specific amount of time to go through.

Prepare notes - Preparing notes, both short and long, will help a lot in revising the topics at the end or whenever it is needed.

Keep exam pattern in mind - The candidates must learn in a smart way by dedicating most of their to the topics which carry more marks. The candidates are suggested to make a priority list, giving those topics the utmost priority which carries more marks than others.

Practicemakes a candidate perfect - Since practising is the most important preparation one can do for their JAM paper, the candidates must focus on practice each and every question available.
