JAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria - Candidates apply for the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) 2016 can apply only if they meet the academic qualifications specified by the authorities. The JAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria given on this page specifies the requisite academic qualifications for JAM 2016. Candidates can check the JAM Eligibility Criteria 2016 along with the courses and the IITs they are available in, from the table given below. They can also know the JAM 2016 Exam Paper they need to appear for the course they are interested in.

Important: JAM 2016 qualified candidates taking part in the admision process must check the JAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria for Admission below on this page. This criteria is for all those candidates who have qualified in JAM 2016 and wish to take part in the common admission process that follows the declaration of the JAM 2016 Result.

 

JAM 2016 Common Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates may note that there is no age restriction for JAM 2016. JAM 2016 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). Foreign Nationals however must fulfil the eligibility conditions of the admitting institute.

  • Candidates in their final year are eligible provided they show proof of passing the qualifying exam by September 30, 2016.

  • Distance programmes candidates who have applied for the requisite programmes at IIT Madras must also clear an interview for admissions

  • Candidates can apply for one or two test papers provided they are able to mee the given Eligibility Criteria and are not restricted by the JAM 2016 Exam Schedule.
  • All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/OBC-NCL Category Candidates.
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined) in the qualifying degree.
  • For Candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
  • Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2016

Note: Some Programmes will also have an interview in addition to qualifying in JAM 2016.

i want to apply for JAM exam but why the exam date period is very less to apply

IIT JAM exam form for registration was released on 5th September and last date for registration was 12th October. I am sorry to say but there is no possibility to apply for the exam after the last date of registration. Correction window will be open in first week of November.
