As part of its merit-based admission policy, the University of Delhi offers admissions to its ECA and Sports quotas. Courses that are offered through entrance examinations are not eligible for ECA and Sports quota seats. Delhi University policy requires each college to reserve 1 to 5% of its total seats for ECA and sports. In any case, the number of seats reserved for ECA and sports quota cannot exceed 5% of the total seats, depending on the college's sports facilities.
What is required for ECA and Sports quota seats admissions is trials and certificate verification. Candidates are required to upload their ECA/Sports certificates on the DU admission portal. Furthermore, they have to pay Rs. 100 as additional fee online.
Candidates can apply for a maximum of three ECA categories
15 percent concession given to the ECA category in the DU cutoff
For the ECA category, two levels of trials are done: preliminary and final
Candidates are shortlisted for the final trials based on the preliminary trials
Only candidates who qualify for the final round will have their certificates evaluated by the ECA Admission Committee.
Merit lists will be prepared based on Final Trials (75% weightage) and certificate evaluation (25% weightage).
Applicants must score at least 50% in the final trials (38 out of 75) to be considered for the final merit list.
Yes, it’s hard to get admission in DU colleges but it’s not impossible. It’s a cut-throat competition when it comes to admissions in DU due to the high cutoffs, as much as a perfect 100 in some colleges/courses.
However, the competition is too tough for general category candidates only. For the reserved category candidates, the cut off ranges between 68-98 for many courses across various colleges. Also, with the implementation of CUET for DU admissions in 2023, the cut offs are likely to go down.
The DU cutoff percentage varies depending on factors like college, course, category, etc. For general category candidates, the cutoff for the top courses and colleges go as high a 98-100. However, across the unpopular colleges/courses, the cut off for general category goes like 68-100. On the other hand, reserved category candidates do not face that tough competition, as DU cut off for them remains quite lower than what it is for the general category.
The last date for DU UG admission was July 26, 2023.
It would differ from college to college. As per the DU UG admission policy, not more than 15 percent concession in academic merit vis-à-vis unreserved category applicants from the last relevant DU cutoffs will be given for admission to a specific course subject to course-specific eligibility criteria.
Yes, you can register for multiple courses by selecting the desired programmes through a single DU online registration form.
No, you won’t be allowed to register twice on the DU admission portal 2023 with the same email id. However, you can make corrections in the errors by again logging into your account by using the “Edit” option at the end of each session/page.
You can continue to make changes/corrections till you click on the “Payment” link and pay the fee and thus submit your registration form. Once you have submitted your DU application form, you may not be allowed to make any changes.
The DU application fee is accepted online only through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI. There is no offline/cash mode for fee payment. Ensure to pay only through the payment link provided in the DU admissions portal 2023.
First come first serve policy is not applicable in DU admissions. Candidates, who have filled the DU online registration form, meet the eligibility criteria and cut-off for a particular course in a particular college will be considered for admission according to the schedule.
Yes, the provision of changing the subject is there, however, it can only be done before the last date of DU 2023 admission.
But only if you meet the requisite cutoffs and seats are available in that subject/course. You can’t change your subject during the course of study or after completing the first year of your study.
Yes, you are eligible for DU UG admissions, but only if your compartment result is declared before the admission process is completed and seats are available. Also, you are needed to update the DU online registration form by filling your latest marks, possibly till the end of admissions, while the registration portal is open.
Candidates should fill and submit the DU application form to apply for DU. Candidates will be selected based on the marks secured in the CUET.
