DU Admission 2021 – The process of Delhi University admission will commence with the release of the DU application form 2021, in the last week of May, in online mode. Aspiring candidates can fill the applications for DU admissions 2021 at du.ac.in till June 2021. Keep a note that the undergraduate admission at Delhi University takes place through DU UG admission portal for merit based courses, while 12 courses are offered through entrance exam. DU 2021 admissions are expected to be carried out through 7-8 DU cut off rounds. DU admission process 2021 will be held by the varsity for enrolling eligible candidates at 69,554 seats, out of which 3291 will be for ECA+Sports category admissions. DU Application Form 2021
The authorities will open the DU application window 2021 by launching the DU UG admission portal in online mode in the last week of May 2021. In order to initiate the DU registration process 2021 for admission to the merit based UG courses, the candidates have to visit the official website of Delhi University – du.ac.in and further create their DU admission log in account. After the signing up process or DU UG registration, candidates have to enter log in to the portal and fill their required personal and academic details. The DU 2021 application form will stay functional till June 2021.
Last year, as many as 563669 candidates had applied for DU UG admissions, out of which 353919 had finally paid the registration fee. In 2019, as many as 367895 had registered for DU UG admissions whereas only 258388 had paid the fee. As per the official DU registration data for both the years, the portal recived 195774 more applications in 2020 than in 2019. However, the paid registrations were higher than 95531 only in 2020 as compared to 2019.
DU Application Form 2021 – Stages in Detail
Stage 1 – Registration
This is a one time process wherein user name and password will have to be generated by the candidates. The same credentials will be used for all application/log in stages further.

Stage 2 – Fill Application Form
At the next stage, candidates have to fill in the application form after logging in using the same credentials generated at the registration stage. The details to be entered by the candidates include their address, personal and academic details, and best of four marks.
Stage 3 – Upload Documents
At this third stage, candidates must upload the following documents in the prescribed size and format.

DU Colleges 2021
DU colleges are the affiliated or participating institutes or colleges that offer admission to the eligible candidates based on the DU cut off in the courses available at the respective colleges. There are 91 colleges under DU, out of which UG courses are offered at 64 courses based on merit based channel.

DU Admission Best of Four Criteria
The admission to merit based courses is offered after the calculation of marks in best of four subjects of the qualifying examination. We explain to you the process of DU best of four criteria and its calculation.
How to Calculate Best of Four Percentage for DU Admission 2021
To calculate the DU best of four, the following subjects will be taken into account:
One language (Core/Elective/Functional)
One subject (For which candidate wishes to apply)
Any two academic subjects
The best of four in DU admissions means that the best marks in 4 subjects (as listed above) out of the total subjects (from the qualifying exam) would be considered for offering admission to the eligible candidates. The language subject out of the 4 considered subjects would be mandatory (subject to what the student has studied), however, rest of the three subjects may vary as per the desired course and the stream studied by the candidate.
Grade Conversion in DU Admission 2021
We elaborate here the formula – how to calculate grade point average awarded in Cambridge School Certificate/ Malayalam/African G.C.E./Overseas/Examination School Certificate Examination and/or 12th Grade Examination of American Embassy School, New Delhi along with the percentage of marks as are awarded in the Higher Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, for offering Delhi University admissions. DU UG Admission Channels 2021
There are two channels of admissions in Delhi University at the undergraduate level. First, through which maximum courses/seats are offered is the merit based DU admission channel and the second is the entrance based channel.
DU UG Merit Based Admission Channel 2021
Most seats are offered across the 64 participating colleges of Delhi University through the merit based channel, ie: admission is offered based on the marks of the candidates in the qualifying exam. The formula of best of four is applied and candidates are filtered for admission based on the eligibility criteria and if they meet the DU cut off released for the respective courses at the respective colleges.
DU UG Entrance Exam Channel 2021 – DUET
Delhi University Entrance Test or DUET is held for offering admissions across the participating DU colleges based on their performance in the exam which is held by NTA. NTA conducts DUET for 9 courses, while admission to 3 courses (Under Faculty of Music and Fine Arts) is offered based on the entrance test held by the Delhi University itself.

DU Cut off 2021
Delhi University cut off 2021 is expected to be out in June or July. All merit based DU admissions are offered based on the candidates meeting the DU cut off as per their category, choice of courses or colleges they seek admission in. DU cut off is the minimum marks/percentage derived after using the best of four subject marks of the qualifying examination. Like 2021, we can expect 7-8 rounds of DU cut off lists.

DU Round-wise Cut off 2020
The first list of Delhi University cut off 2020 was released on October 10, while the last round (DU 8th cut off) was released in December 2020. However, there was a delay in the admission schedule in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While a total of 5 DU cut off lists were announced with a special cut off, eventually the Delhi University ended up releasing eight rounds of cutoff. DU Admission 2021 Documents Required
After knowing and meeting the DU cut off marks, candidates will know about their admission chances in various colleges/courses. The selection of DU colleges/courses is made at the time of filling the DU form 2020 for admissions. A hard copy of the filled in DU admission form 2021 will need to be brought to the allotted college further. The candidates are also required to carry all the required documents to the allotted college for verification along with the hard copy of the admission form as per the schedule dates mentioned on DU admission portal – du.ac.in. After the DU document verification, candidates have to pay the admission fee at du.ac.in which is the last stage for DU admission.
Note: Since the process of DU admissions was online, including the document verification in 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the process may replicate in 2021 as well.

DU ECA and Sports Quota Admissions 2021
The ECA and Sports quota admissions are not offered in courses wherein admissions are through entrance exam. ECA and Sports quota admissions are applicable in case of merit based courses only. According to the DU officials, each Delhi University college should reserve 1 to 5% of the total seats to promote ECA and Sports. However, the seats reserved for ECA and Sports Quota can’t go beyond 5% of the total seats and are subject to the sports facilities available at the respective college.
DU Sports and ECA Admission 2021
Admission to ECA and Sports quota seats is based on trails and certificate verification. Candidates applying under these categories have to upload their ECA/sports certificates on the DU admission portal. Such candidates have to pay Rs. 100 as additional fee online.
DU ECA Admission Guidelines
Candidates can apply for a maximum of 3 ECA categories
15% concession is given to ECA category in DU cut off
Two level of trails are done for ECA category – Preliminary and Final
Based on the preliminary trials, applicants short-listed for the final trials
Certificate evaluation will be done by the ECA Admission Committee only for the candidates who qualify the final trails
The final merit lists will be prepared based on Final Trials (75% weightage) and certificate evaluation (25% weightage).
The applicant must secure at least 50% marks in the final trials (38 out of 75) to be eligible for inclusion in the final merit list.
DU NCWEB Admissions 2021
The Delhi University will open the DU NCWEB admissions and release the NCWEB cut off a couple of weeks after the regular DU cut off lists of all colleges offering merit based admissions. The varsity is expected to release 8-9 rounds of DU NCWEB cut off lists 2021. Last year, a total of 9 NCWEB cutoff lists were released by the Delhi University.
The Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) enables young women, who cannot join regular college classes for various reasons, to attend classes during Saturdays/Sundays and during academic breaks in Delhi University colleges. NCWEB coaches (once a week) the female students of NCT Delhi to take University of Delhi examinations without attending regular classes.
At the UG level, such women can apply for admissions and pursue BA or B.Com courses. The NCWEB education system has been established in 26 UG centres and one PG centre, with approximately 32,000 students.

Yes! As per the new National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) rule, students can now directly apply for B. Ed right after passing their Class 12 examinations from any of the recognised boards across the country.
The candidates must have passed Graduation or Bachelor's degree in any stream with a minimum of 45-50% of marks. Candidates who have passed Diploma in Physical Education can also apply for B.P. Ed course.

The initial recommendations included proposals for conducting the entrance exam twice a year. However, for the 2021-22 academic session, the entrance test is proposed to be conducted once a year. The students will have the option of appearing for the entrance exams for more than a year. The government is planning to implement a Common Aptitude Test for admission in all central universities including Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
