DU 2016 admission timeline (till August 16, 2016) for vacant seats after fifth cut-off
The colleges would be notifying vacant seats course-wise and category-wise by July 23, 2016 (4:00 pm).
Once the colleges have notified the vacant seats data, the candidates, who had been registered through DU 2016 UG admission portal, can apply for the seats by logging into their registered accounts between July 24 and July 26, 2106.
While applying for the vacant seats in various colleges, they need to note that the candidates can apply for the seats in only those courses for which they have applied for while registering for DU 2016 admission.
As the colleges receive application data for the vacant seats, they would be issuing a merit list mentioning candidates’ name, registration number, and best of four/PCM/PCB subjects marks for each of the courses in online as well as offline modes on July 27, 2016.
Now candidates need to ensure their names in the issued merit list and get their documents verified and seek the admission approval by colleges by 1:00 pm on July 28 and July 29, 2016 (between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm for evening colleges).
If still there would be vacant seats, based on the re-application data, the colleges would be issuing a second merit list on July 30, 2016, following which candidates have to go through document verification and admission approval process on August 1 and 2, 2016 (by 1: 00 pm for Morning colleges and 4:00 pm-7:00 pm for the evening colleges).
Similarly, DU colleges would be notifying the third and last merit list for the vacant seats, if any on August 3, 2016. Candidates based on the declared third merit list have to seek admission approval after getting their documents verified on August 4 and 5, 2016 as per the time schedule.
If still any vacancy persists, after the third list, colleges will again be notifying the data details for each course in each category on August 6, 2016.
Candidates thereby would again be offered chance to re-fill the applications for vacant seats between August 7 and 8, 2016, till 6:00 pm.
Colleges would be issuing another merit list on August 9, 2016 displaying names, registration number and Best of Four subjects/PCM/PCB marks of the candidates for filling the vacancies, wherein the candidates would be needed to seek the admission approval by following the process on August 10 and August 11, 2016.
Another merit list would be issued by the colleges in case of the vacant seats on August 12, 2016 followed by the document verification and admission approval process on August 13 – August 16, 2016.
Advisory to DU 2016 aspirants for filling vacant seats
While admission into vacant seats are permitted only for those students who have not taken admission in any of the DU colleges or have cancelled their earlier seat, candidates must note that in any circumstance they should not cancel their earlier seats before getting approval for admission against the vacant seats. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Tuteja told Careers360, “Candidates are advised not to cancel/withdraw their admitted seat in the previous college for the applied course until and unless they have been offered admission based on showing their documents (in photocopy). Once they have been assured for admission against the vacant seats, they would be required to withdraw their admitted seats in other college and submit the original documents in the college.” He added that this process would also check the over-admissions as well as multiple admissions.
After the approval of admission, the candidate should again login through his/her registered DU 2016 login account (online admission portal) for remitting the admission fee. The fees can be paid till 12:00 noon of the next day of the given admission deadline. Candidates should note that no fee will be accepted after 12:00 noon on August 17, 2016.
There may be technical faults while paying the admission fee, as the DU 2016 admission officials have admitted. They, however, have advised the candidates to re-attempt the fee payment procedure in such cases. In case the candidates have remitted the fee but didn’t receive any fee acceptance receipt, they have been suggested to wait for at least 3 hours for the message and then report the issue to the varsity admission council. “In case candidates have paid the fee and not received any message of successful payment of admission fee, they should wait for the same for at least 3 hours and then report the issue in writing to the University Admission Committee,” advised Dr. Tuetja.
It must be noted that the admission in any college is completed only after the payment of the online admission fee through the UG admission portal within the time schedule.
No candidate will be offered any seat on first come, first serve basis, said the University officials. “The DU colleges shall admit students strictly on the basis of merit list,” said the Deputy DSW.
Delhi University offers admissions to over 54000 undergraduate seats for admission to various courses in as many as 77 colleges of the varsity. Currently, the admission process is on for vacant seats in different colleges through online UG admission portal.

Hello dear aspirant.
You have not clearly mentioned whether for UG or PG and which course you are interested in.
As of now admission in DU is on merit list basis first you should know past years cutoff and then prepare hard and score good marks in board exams so that you can easily get a seat in DU .
Hope it helps you.
Hello Anurag, Yes these three subjects are fine but you need to add one more subject in order to complete the best of four percentage. The rule is that you need one subject related to the course you are applying for, one language course(most of the students have english) and other two courses you can select as any two subjects with maximum marks.
