picA well designed Beauty!

With sophisticatedly clean gardens, old tall green palm trees covered under the shadows of nature, Delhi University’s IP College is blessed with beauty. With so many trees around, not a single shredded leaf was to be seen anywhere. Even with so much of heat the campus maintains its charm of lush green lawns, especially the front lawn of the college which is as green as anything can be!

If you look at the entire campus of IP College for Women, it is definite that you would sense a subtle, proud feeling. The college is as serene as watching an old English lavish palace with impeccable architecture and foliage all around, almost similar to that of a classic British movie.

Not just this, IP College, Delhi University has the best flora and fauna resources in its campus. The college, besides students and faculty, is home to many migratory birds too. The only reason for the birds to find a home in this campus is due to its magical verdure.

Maintaining the standards of cleanliness and green environment, Delhi University’s IP College for Women is a bit strict about the campus infrastructure and activities. Though this definitely does not mean that girls here can’t have fun, there are many creative activities among the students that make Life at IP College happening.

‘Khulla Manch’ and The Wall!

Let yourself imagine a place where you can just stand and express your thoughts, ideas or even brag about anything! Felt nice and free, right. Exactly is the place at IP College, which they call as the ‘Khulla Manch’ and The Wall.

The young aspiring women of IP College are a fascination in every possible way, along with which they are super creative and know how exactly to use the resources of their college. The ‘Khulla Manch’ is an open space near the cafeteria, representing a platform, where any girl can come and express her thoughts.

As the name depicts its meaning, the Khulla Manch is the most active area of the campus. Be it a student of any semester, she is allowed to just come, stand and talk what she feels like (of course not crossing limits of her right to speech!).

Just besides the Manch is ‘The Wall’. Trust us; this is really a cool place. It’s a big wall, where students can put pictures, posters, slogans or any other message they like. Come on, how many colleges you think have that!

Within the limitations, anything can be slung upon this artistic wall.

Isn’t it fun to just sit and eat at this amusing and entertaining place, available only at Delhi University IP College? Don’t worry if you are a shy bee to speak out to all the girls of the campus, you can write it on the Wall! You have options which just let you be a part of activities of the campus anyhow.

The only place for Swimming!

You can go swimming to any place but in a college. You would not find any college providing the facility of a Swimming Pool to its students. But you do get this funtastic opportunity at IP College. This college is the first and only College that has a swimming pool for its students.

While in our interview with Indraprastha College for Women Principal, a heartfelt, unpretentious lady, Dr. Babli Moitra Saraf, mentioned the history behind IP’s swimming pools.

The pool was literally dwelled by the then faculty and students of the college and constructed with support of donations and government funds.  Wooh! Now that’s what achievement is.

In times when swimming for girls was almost offensive, Indraprastha College for Women went out and dig them a pool. The pool indeed has an illustrious history which would be a pride for the entire IP generations.

So if you really looking for a unique feature in a college, IP has a history of being unique and ahead attached to it.

meeraOpen Door, Freedom and Vision!

The oldest college with Alumni like Lok Sabha speaker Meera kumar, IP College has a vision to Enable and Empower the differently abled. The heritage building is a Barrier Free, technically equipped campus for its PH students. A USP we must rather call, as no other campus is so well maintained and designed.

The College follows an Open Door policy, which means that students can talk, discuss share their views anytime to professors or even to the Principal. Though we might get a little scary to go and talk to the principals, but IP College’s policy makes students comfortable enough to just walk and discuss without any fear of sort. Also a college with such a humane and welcoming Principal would never have the shadow of fear anywhere near to the college campus.

Walking on the campus where Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Pt. Jwaharlal Nehru have sauntered, and holds a strong history of association with Indian freedom Movement- Indraprastha College for Women is an Institute to embark your career with. It is a College that can give you what you desire and uplifts you to endless sky of opportunities. Just wish that your score in XIIth board exam matches the DU cutofffor IP College and lets you land in this college by fulfilling the DU Admission process.
