Delhi University has begun the admission process for the academic year 2014. The applications forms are available at 18 designated university information centers. Delhi University, being a central university is offering relaxation to the girl candidates in some of the colleges affiliated under the university. If you are girl candidate and are applying in the varsity for admissions under FYUP, you may look in this page for the colleges which have sought permission from the University for offering relaxation to the eligible girl candidates.

Excluding the relaxation to girls, the varsity follows the constitutional relaxation to the other eligible candidates from different sections of the society, including the defense quota, reserved category quota, PwD quota etc. Find below the relaxation as per the Constitution of India –

Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 27% - Candidates availing this quota need to provide an OBC certificate issued by a Central Government authority. No other certificate other than the one issued by the central government authority will be accepted by the university.

Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/STs) – 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST. The eligible candidates availing the reservation quota need to submit their certificates at the time of admissions. The certificates should be issued by the competent authority of central level.

Kashmiri Migrants – 5% - The candidates who wish to apply under this quota need to register themselves at the address mentioned below -

Delhi University has begun the process of admissions for the academic year 2014 on June 2. Candidates can submit the DU online/offline pre-admission form after duly filling it by June 16.

As many as 65 colleges are affiliated to the University of Delhi, which offers 54,000 seats for admission to the four year undergraduate course. At present, there are 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 77 colleges and 5 other recognized institutes spread around Delhi.

 

One of the largest universities of India, DU has nearly 1,32,435 regular students (UG-1,14,494 and PG-17,941) and 2,61,169 students (UG-2,58,831 and PG-2,338) in School of Open Learning education programme.

If I want to get admission in BSC honours in mathematics in Delhi University on the basis of percentage scored in class 12th , then what all subjects can I register for the calculation of percentage to be written in Merit list ? Can I register with Mathematics, computer and chemistry ?

Hello Anurag, Yes these three subjects are fine but you need to add one more subject in order to complete the best of four percentage. The rule is that you need one subject related to the course you are applying for, one language course(most of the students have english) and other two courses you can select as any two subjects with maximum marks.

Can I get admission in Delhi University for doing B.Tech on the basis of percentage scored in class 12th or it is compulsory to give entrance examination ?

Hello Anurag, No, you can't get admission in BTech course only on the basis of 12th class marks. Giving the entrance test is compulsory. Giving entrance test is compulsory for the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Management Studies

  • B.A. (Hons) - Business Economics
  • B. Tech. - (IT&M)
  • B.A. (Hons) - Humanities and Social Sciences

Presently , Im in class 12th with Maths Stream. I have scored 81% in class 10th from ICSE board. Now what should I do after class 12th if I dont want to apply for JEE. What should be my preferences in getting admission in a good government college for doing B.Tech especially in Delhi University ?

Dear Aspirant,

If you are aiming for doing Btech, then your only choice is to give JEE exam as it is the only option you have. So I suggest you should fill up the form for JEE. It is going to be conducted in January 22, 2019. The next attempt will be in April, 2020. The complete details are here:

Hello,


There are hundreds of college that comes under DU.
There is different eligiblity criteria for different colleges.To get admission in top colleges of DU like SRCC, St. Stephens college, hansraj college,Miranda house, hindu college etc you can get direct admission but you will have to score 95 and above percentage in your 12th board examination.
If you are general category then aim for above 97%.
