The first Delhi University Admission 2014 BA Cutoff has been released by the university on June 30. The Colleges under Delhi University will release separate 2014 BA Cutoff lists for the aspirants based on their results in the 12th standard.

Below are 2013 Cutoffs for each discipline under Delhi University BA programme. The DU admission BA Cutoff of 2013 brings insight into the admission scenario of DU and provides aspirants clarity on whether their 12th standard marks makes them eligible for admission in Delhi University.


English: The General category Cutoffs for the English disciplines in the top Delhi University colleges varied from 92 to 98.5 percentage with the Cutoff was highest with 98.5%.The cutoff  was lowest ranging between 65 and 85.

Cutoff range for other categories is as below –

  • OBC: 96.7% was the highest cutoff with the range from 55 to 75 percentage being the lowest.
  • The cutoff for SC, ST and PWD were in the similar range varying between 95 and 97. The cutoff was lowest from 60 to 80.

Economics: The General category cutoffs for economics stopped at 85%. The cutoff percentage ranged between 93.75 and 98.75%.

For OBC, the cutoffs ranged from 80 to 95.7%. For SC, ST and PWD the range fell below 70% for some colleges.

Political Science: The highest cutoff for the General category was recorded at 97.5% with the lowest being 67%.

The Cutoff for admissions in Political Science discipline was again highest for the other categories with OBC, ST SC and PWD reporting cutoff range from 83 to 93.

Philosophy: The highest cutoff was reported at95% for the general category in Philosophy discipline, while the lowest cutoff was reported at 65%.

For OBC, SC, ST and PWD the highest cutoffs were marked above 90%. The cutoffs closed at 60% for the mentioned categories.

Geography: ForGeneral category, the highest Cutoff was 96.5% whereas the lowest at 75%. For the other categories, the highest cutoff did not cross 90% and the lowest did not go below 63%.

History: 97% was the highest cutoff for the general category. The cutoffs closed at 65% for some colleges. The highest cutoff touched 94% for PWD category. The cutoffs closed at 55%.

Sociology: The highest cutoff for Sociology discipline was marked at 97.5% for the general category with the cutoffs closing at 78%. For the other categories, cutoffs soared upto 95%. Cutoffs closed at 68% for SC, ST and PWD.

Journalism and Mass Communication: The general category aspirants with the highest percentage of 98.5% could grab a seat in the colleges offering this discipline. The lowest cutoff closed did not go below for 93% for the colleges. For OBC, ST, SC and PWD the cutoff soared to as much as 97.5% for the top colleges and closed at a really high 87.5% for all the categories.

As many as 2,56,024 registrations took place for Delhi university for 54,000 seats for 65 colleges. The application process will start from June 2 and the last date of application is June 16.

If I want to get admission in BSC honours in mathematics in Delhi University on the basis of percentage scored in class 12th , then what all subjects can I register for the calculation of percentage to be written in Merit list ? Can I register with Mathematics, computer and chemistry ?

Hello Anurag, Yes these three subjects are fine but you need to add one more subject in order to complete the best of four percentage. The rule is that you need one subject related to the course you are applying for, one language course(most of the students have english) and other two courses you can select as any two subjects with maximum marks.


Can I get admission in Delhi University for doing B.Tech on the basis of percentage scored in class 12th or it is compulsory to give entrance examination ?

Hello Anurag, No, you can't get admission in BTech course only on the basis of 12th class marks. Giving the entrance test is compulsory. Giving entrance test is compulsory for the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Management Studies
  • Bachelor of Business Administration - FIA
  • B.A. (Hons) - Business Economics
  • B. Tech. - (IT&M)
  • B.A. (Hons) - Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Bachelors of Elementary Education (B.El. Ed.)
  • B.Sc. in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports
  • B.A. (Hons) – MMC
  • B.A. (Hons) – Music

Presently , Im in class 12th with Maths Stream. I have scored 81% in class 10th from ICSE board. Now what should I do after class 12th if I dont want to apply for JEE. What should be my preferences in getting admission in a good government college for doing B.Tech especially in Delhi University ?

If you are aiming for doing Btech, then your only choice is to give JEE exam as it is the only option you have. So I suggest you should fill up the form for JEE. It is going to be conducted in January 22, 2019. The next attempt will be in April, 2020. The complete details are here:

First off all du is the government University as well as reputed University ,
And in du admission on basic of either compitive exam else 12th % so there is no direct admission possible in du .
If you have Secord good marks automatically you will.get the admission.
