Delhi University Admission 2014- Delhi University admission process shall begin from June 2. Established in 1922, the University houses 16 faculties and 86 departments spread over North and South campuses in the National Capital. Apart from the regular programmes, the University also offers distance learning courses under its Campus of Open Learning. There are several foreign language programmes which are offered as part time porgrammes under the varsity guidelines. The top foreign language prgrammes of the university include French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese and Romanian. The varsity offers Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in these foreign languages.

The North Campus of DU has 16 faculties and 84 departments. The main North Campus comprises nine colleges under different faculties - Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Law. The South Campus colleges are scattered more than the North Campus ones.
University of Delhi witnessed a total of 1,53,680 registrations in 2012 for its 3 year programme. In 2013, when the University introduced Four Year Undergraduate Programme, the registration number increased to 2,56,024. University of Delhi currently offers around 54,000 seats in various programmes under different disciplines at UG level.
DU 4-Year Undergraduate Programme - In the year 2013, University of Delhi introduced new Four-Year Undergraduate Programme across disciplines to encapsulate changes in the present Indian education system. The 4-year programme emphasises on references from the surrounding environment, interactive analysis, group discussions, training, industrial visits and much more.
The 4-year programme also offers multiple degree option. For example, under the 4-Year Undergraduate Degree Programme (4-YUP), if you wish or have to leave college after two years, DU shall acknowledge your education and award you a Diploma. Not only this, you can return to DU in the future to complete your education. Similarly, if you wish or have to leave after three years, DU shall give you a Bachelor’s degree with a Major Subject. Besides these, if you successfully complete your course in DU after 4 years, you would be awarded a Bachelor with Honours Degree.
How to get admissions in the university?
DU Admission-cum-Application Form – University of Delhi invites both online as well as the offline applications for its four year undergraduate programmes tentatively in the first week of June every year. The issue and receipt of registrations can be made through the single (common pre-admission OMR) application form for various courses in the recognized colleges of the University.
DU Admission Eligibility – For getting admission opportunity at DU, you need to pass in 10+2 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or equivalent examination with the subjects opted at 10+2 level. However the admission will depend at par the marks secured by you and cut-off announced by the colleges for the various courses at the university. There is no minimum age bar required for admissions to the undergraduate courses offered in the university.
