BHU PET Eligibility Criteria 2021 - Faculty of Arts
Candidates seeking admission to M.A programmes in subjects such as Hindi, English, Bengali, Sanskrit, German, Arabic, French, Marathi, Persian, Urdu, Telugu, Pali, History of Art, Linguistics and Philosophy have to meet the following BHU PET 2021 eligibility criteria set by the faculty of arts.
Applicants must have completed their graduation in B.A. with a minimum 50% aggregate excluding subjects which require only passing marks according to the BHU PET eligibility criteria 2021.

Banaras Hindu University offers admission to various M.Sc programmes such as Environmental Sciences (Ecological Science), Environmental Sciences (Earth and Atmospheric Science) and Environmental Sciences (Environmental Biotechnology). To match the BHU PET eligibility criteria 2021 of Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, candidates must have a degree in B.Sc Hons./ B.Sc/ B.Sc Hons. BHU PET Reservation Criteria 2021
As per the BHU PET 2021 reservation criteria, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories do not have to score any minimum percentage in the qualifying examination. Candidates of OBC categories are given a 5% relaxation in minimum aggregate to be scored in the qualifying test. The table given below consists of the percentage of seats reserved for candidates belonging to reserved category.

BHU PET Eligibility Criteria 2021 - Key Points
Candidates who belong to reserved category have to present their category certificate during the admission process.
Candidates who are in the last year of their graduation course can also apply for BHU PET 2021. In such cases candidates have to present the original mark sheet on the counselling day. If candidates fail to produce the mark sheet by the submission date, then their candidacy for admission will be cancelled without any fees refund.
If a candidate's mark sheet does not show the equivalent percentage of marks then they have to get a certificate of conversion from their respective institution which mentions the converted percentage or formula of conversion from grade points to numerical.
Candidates have to submit the photocopies of both sides of degree/grade sheet if in case it mentions the equivalent percentage or conversion formula of grade sheet.
During counselling, the grace marks given to the candidates in the qualifying examination will also be taken into account by the university. The final mark sheet of candidates will only be used to calculate the aggregate marks. However, if there are more than one type of final mark sheet then total marks of three years will be taken in account to determine the aggregate. The marks obtained by candidates in subsidiary subjects will also be taken into account even if the final marks sheet is solely based only on Hons. subject.
Candidates who have completed 10+2 courses from Madrasas approved by Jamia Millia Islamia are also eligible for admission to BHU.
Candidates can apply for admission to various courses if they are eligible for each of them and the entrance test is being conducted on different dates.
After taking admission to Banaras Hindu University, candidates are not allowed to pursue any other programme from other universities.
Only the degrees and certificates which are recognized by Association of Indian Universities are considered equivalent degrees/certificates.
The credibility of distance education degrees or certificates is decided by the Distance Education of Council of IGNOU. The candidates who are studying through a distance education programme are eligible for sitting in the exam, however they have to provide the certificates issued by Distance Education of Council of IGNOU.
The supernumerary category includes the seats which are reserved for BHU employee wards, Sports seats, Paid seats and Foreign Nationals.
