• Candidates from the reserved categories receive a 5% grade reduction.

• Candidates may apply for a maximum of two courses, either M.Phil. or Ph.D.

• Candidates with a PG degree from Assam University, UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holders, and teachers teaching at the university will receive a bonus of 10% of their PG grade/ percentage of marks over the entrance examination score.

• The application process for all of the University's courses is done online.

• Candidates for B.Tech must have a 10+2 diploma with PCM subjects and a minimum of 60% marks.

• The university also offers a B.Tech Lateral Entry course, for which candidates must first complete a Diploma in Engineering.

• Admission is given on the basis of JEE Main score for 75% of the B.Tech seats, and admission is given on the basis of the department's UG entrance test for the remaining seats.

• Candidates for UG courses must have passed the 10+2 examination in the relevant stream from a recognized university.

• Admission to PG courses is based on university-conducted entrance exams and interviews.

• Candidates for M.Tech must have a B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.

• Candidates with a valid CUET/ GATE score are considered for admission to M.Tech.

• Candidates for MBA must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.

• Admission to MBA programmes is based on CAT scores.

• Candidates who do not have a CAT score card must take the Management Department's Written Skill Assessment Test (WSAT).

• Candidates for other PG courses must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognised university.

• Applicants for research-based Ph.D. and M.Phil. programmes must have completed a postgraduate degree in the relevant field with at least a 55 percent grade point average.

• Admission to the Ph.D. and M.Phil programmes is based on a Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) administered by the respective schools, as well as an interview.
