Apeejay Stya University partnered with NDTV to explore mutual synergies in the field of media and journalism studies. The MoU was signed between Aditya Berlia, Pro Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and Shyatto Raha, Managing Director, NDTV Worldwide at NDTV’s headquarter in New Delhi on May 31.As a part of this collaboration, NDTV’s senior journalists, producers and anchors will conduct a series of workshops for the students of University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) on subjects ranging from Reporting, Anchoring to Live News Transmissions from NDTV’s News Production Centre in New Delhi. Students will also get an opportunity to do their internship and attend studio shows at NDTV.
Speaking about the partnership, Berlia said, “Apeejay Stya University and NDTV have come together to prepare students of journalism and mass communication for a much more industry centric approach in a rapidly changing market.”
He also added, “The Apeejay Stya and Svran Group is committed towards excellence in journalism and we recently established the Svran-Apeejay Journalism Foundation to provide strings-free grants to journalists for pursuing long form positive stories about India or its sub-regions in any medium. The collaboration with NDTV is a further extension of our mission.”
On behalf of NDTV Worldwide, Shyatto Raha, Managing Director said, “We not only aim to offer journalism students the most hands on learning platform through practical training and workshops, but also bring to the programme 27 years of experience in news & current affairs production giving the students an opportunity to learn from some of the finest and most respected correspondents, anchors and producers. The workshops will commence from the new academic session in September 2017.
